This project came about in collaboration with street artist Marcelo Maminha from Brazil, who earns his money as a “live sculpture” in the Piazza Navona in Rome. He stands there motionless, but portrays a sculpture with a great amount of vitality.

I filmed the street artist in isolation in a neutral room. The life-size projection is at first not discernible as a moving image. The reproduction of the long and strenuous physical exercise, which is the entire film, initially remains hidden by this.

Dieses Projekt entstand in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Strassenkünstler Marcelo Maminha aus Brasilien, der sein Geld als “lebende Skulptur“ auf der Piazza Navona in Rom vedient. Er steht bewegungslos da, stellt aber eine Skulptur von grosser Dynamik dar.

Ich habe den Strassenkünstler isoliert in einem neutralen Raum gefilmt. Die lebensgrosse Projektion ist nicht sofort als bewegtes Bild erkennbar. Dadurch bleibt seine lange und anstrengende Körperübung, die im Film integral wiedergegeben wird, vorerst verborgen.
